I’m nearly done wrapping up my website renovations, so I thought it would be wise to go back to the project I’d been working on in May.

To remind you, I’d designed a bunch of patterns that fit a number of 13 to 17-inch dolls including:

• Disney toddler dolls
• Vintage Crissy and Velvet dolls
• Hearts for Hearts Girls
• Wellie Wishers from American Girl

You’ll see the various pieces of this ensemble in the image below:

Although vintage Crissy dolls are actually 18-inch dolls, this week’s adorable skirt-and-top combo fit vintage Crissy dolls as well as the smaller dolls.

We’ve already used today’s free skirt pattern to make a skirt with crocheted lace trim, and it would’t take much to adapt the following tutorial to change the crocheted lace trim to the edging you see above:

Now tomorrow I’ll be posting a tutorial showing you how to make the sleeveless shirt shown in these photos:

The tricky thing about making a shirt to fit Crissy is that darned KNOB in the back of her body! (For those of you who don’t know, the knob is used to pull her hair inside her head and release the hair to make it “grow” long.) If you look closely at the image above, you will see that the shirt does manage to cover the knob, but not with perfect grace and style.

So please bear that in mind. This pattern isn’t an absolutely perfect fit for Crissy dolls.

It has been a while since I first posted these patterns back in May, so I thought it wouldn’t hurt to re-post the skirt patterns:

You’ll need two pattern pieces for this project, and then you tape the two pattern pieces together, which you’ll notice in the tutorial video.

But as I’ve indicated, this skirt project is actually a re-post. Tomorrow will be the new pattern and tutorial for the sleeveless top that Crissy wears in these pictures.

And in case you were wondering, I bought this 1970’s -style floral fabric at JoAnn’s Fabric and Crafts. It came as a “Fat Quarter” when I purchased it, but JoAnn’s offers lots of great retro-style fabrics at very reasonable prices.
