#SewingBlogger Thursday: #MineCraft #HackySack sewing project w/FREE Pattern

This week’s sewing project isn’t a doll clothes tutorial; it’s a craft project. We’re going to make a miniature MineCraft character cube that you can stuff like a plushie or fill with rice or beans to form a hacky sack / footbag / foot sack.

This week’s free pattern is also available in my Teachers Pay Teachers store, with lesson plans for teaching “How to Make a Pincushion” for home economics and sewing class teachers. It offers PDF patterns for this plush Minecraft “pincushion” or toy, along with pincushion patterns for my dragon and windmill projects. All of these patterns can be printed, along with the lesson plans and student instructions, plus links to the tutorial videos with the purchase of a 16 page PDF document for $2.99 right here.

But if you’re only interested in my free printable PDF pattern for a Minecraft foot sack toy, here are all the patterns and tutorials you’ll need to make this week’s MineCraft hacky sack / footbag:

Need to know how to play with your foot sack / Hacky Sack? Here’s a tutorial from KickFire Classics (a toy company):

    1. I think this will be a fantastic project for both boys and girls who want to learn how to sew. I taught some boys in my library how to make these little felt hacky sacks, and they really enjoyed the project. One boy even said, “I thought sewing was going to be dumb, but it turned out to be really cool and fun!”
