Sew your #ChristmasGifts in #June with this free #Sewing Pattern for 8″ baby doll clothes!

It’s never too early to start your holiday sewing projects, right? Here’s a holiday sewing project you can start for any children who have an 8-inch baby doll…

This week’s free sewing pattern will fit most 8″ (20 cm) baby dolls. Today’s free PDF sewing pattern comes with two pieces: the one shown above and the one shown below:

Just like we saw with the bigger, 12-inch baby doll’s patterns, the second page of the pattern includes a diaper pattern.  The first page also has a little slipper / bootie / shoe pattern. So with these two free baby doll pattern pages, you’ll be able to make a full wardrobe for your niece / daughter / granddaughter’s 8-inch baby dolls.

For today’s project, though, we won’t need the sleeve that’s found on the second page because we’re making this little dress that you see here:

Beneath the image is a link to the page where you can find the printable PDF pattern for making a sleeveless dress for 8-inch baby dolls like the Lil Cutesies from JC toys. The pattern includes a free diaper pattern and patterns for making the little shoes / booties shown in the image.
Please click here for all the patterns and tutorials you’ll need to make this dress:

Below are the links to the patterns and tutorial videos that will help you create today’s dress, diaper, and shoes for 8-inch baby dolls:

What’s unique about this baby doll dress? It includes a little embroidered snowflake on the front of the felt bodice. Of course that’s optional, but if you’d like to learn how to make that, here’s a link to my snowflake embroidery tutorial:

These patterns were designed to fit the 8-inch Lil’ Cutesies dolls that are produced by JC Toys. Follow that link to purchase one of these dolls, for your future Christmas gift-giving! (I am not affiliated with the JC Toys company, but I have been very impressed with the quality of the Lil’ Cutesies dolls.)

Since all of my patterns and tutorials use the Creative Commons Attribution mark, please show your appreciation for these free patterns and tutorial videos by liking them on Facebook, pinning them on Pinterest, and/or tweeting about them.

If this post looks familiar to you, that’s because it’s a re-post of a series of patterns I did just before Christmas time in 2018, but they are being re-posted as part of my website design renovations.

While website renovations go on, please be patient, but if you do find links that aren’t working, feel free to leave a comment or submit a question to help me locate those flawed links. Thank you!

  1. Thank you so much!!!!! I have been trying to make clothes for this doll and I can never seem to do a good job. Now I am armed with a good pattern. I really appreciate it, and so will my daughters naked dolls!

  2. Thank you for making your patterns free! My grandma and I love making doll clothes but we did not have any patterns till now!

    1. I only made the diaper pattern for 8″ dolls, not 12″ dolls. However, I teach classes online where I share my re-sizing formula. It helps people re-size any pattern to fit dolls with similar body types that are bigger or smaller than the doll you want to dress. Here’s a link.
