I am totally useless at sewing but managed to make Ken a pair of pyjama trousers by obsessively following your tutorial. It took me about 3 hours = I did it all by hand and I’m feeling rather proud of myself. Thank you! I think a pyjama top might be a bit more difficult!

There are projects that are easier though… An elastic-waist skirt for Barbie, a felt top or felt hat. You might try those next. Thanks for leaving a comment!

I was given a Hagrid doll for Christmas a couple of years ago, but I hadn’t taken him out of the box yet. This gave me the perfect reason to do so, and I thank you for it!
I tried the blue trousers on him first. The inseam is right, but the waistline is too slim for him. Next I tried the gingham shirt on him. It fit, although it’s a bit snug.
Finally, I tried the pajama pants on him (which have the same waistline as the shorts). I could pull these up over his portly belly, but it was difficult. And then, once I got them on him, the inseam wasn’t long enough.
It has been a while since I did a #TapeMeasureTuesday feature on this website, but your question has inspired me. I think I will offer a blog post on this very topic, on Tuesday, July 27th. I think other doll clothes sewing enthusiasts may benefit from the same topic. Thanks for asking this great question!

The best way to find patterns for 12 inch male dolls here on ChellyWood.com is to a.) Click on the home page, and b.) choose the image of 12-inch male dolls, and c.) pick from the list of clothing styles and doll types. These links will then take you to a gallery of all the outfits I’ve made for various Ken-sized male dolls.

Thank you so much for this pattern and video that helped me sew my first ever doll clothing piece. It’s for a Hagrid doll and trousers fit very well, for a first. Hand sewed the crotch seams then machine for the inseams (my first machine sewing exercise too!). I skipped the elastic and the leg seam parts but now I know I can make it !
