Hopefully you’re as excited as I am about this adorable Dutch windmill pincushion project! I actually started this project a full year ago, but I’ve waited to post it until just before Christmas because I think it would make a fantastic Christmas gift for anyone who sews or collects miniatures.

There have been a number of tutorial videos showing various embroidery stitches you can use with this project, and I’ll re-post the pattern, plus links to all the embroidery stitch tutorials with tomorrow’s post.
As I said in yesterday’s post, this can be a sewing project all by itself, but it also makes a wonderful embroidery sampler, which will give you a chance to practice your embroidery stitches.
Tomorrow I’ll post the video tutorial, offering instructions for how to sew this adorable little guy together, so please stop by for a visit on Wednesday this week!

Some of my followers have wondered what motivates me to give my patterns away for free. First of all, I’m a librarian by trade. Librarians love free stuff! We believe that the more a person knows, the more enriched their life will be. So it may sound kind of crazy, but I want ChellyWood.com to become a sort of library of free patterns that help people learn to sew doll clothes.

My patterns are now available through “Creative Commons Attribution.” This means that I created my patterns (and therefore I own rights to them), but I’m willing to share them with everyone who will tell people about my website.
