Drumroll…. Here it is! This is my “Jeans and Dress Shirt” pattern for male fashion dolls, and it’s the #1 item on my list of the “Top 15 Downloaded Patterns from ChellyWood.com.”

You may recall that I posted the other part of the shirt pattern earlier this month. Well here’s the rest of it.

The jeans are designed to fit smaller-than-Ken-sized fashion dolls, like Spin Master Liv Doll Jake and similar-sized dolls. However the shirt fits Ken®, Jake™, and even the bulky G.I. Joe® dolls! No wonder this is such a popular shirt pattern to download, right?

This marks the end of my Top 15 countdown. For the rest of the week, I’ll be posting some of my favorite doll pics and such. Then, hopefully, I’ll have time to post some new patterns and tutorials during the second week of June.

Need help printing my patterns? This link will take you to a tutorial showing you how to download my free, printable patterns.

Please note: you must enlarge my patterns to fit a full-sized piece of American computer paper (8.5 x 11 inches or 216 x 279 mm) without margins, before printing. These designs use a 1/4 inch seam (standard for fashion doll sewing projects).

If you’re wondering why I make patterns and videos without charging a fee, please visit the “Chelly’s Books” page, and that should explain my general motivations. It’s always friendly and kind to show your appreciation for my free patterns and tutorials by liking them on Facebook, pinning them on Pinterest, and/or tweeting about them (yes, you have my permission). You’re also welcome to add any of my YouTube channel’s videos to your playlists.

In case you haven’t heard, I’ve also designed commercial patterns for Lammily LLC. They have some new dolls in their line, including a new male doll, so you might want to visit the Lammily website to see what they’ve got going on.

I also have a series of tutorials for the beginning sewists on my YouTube channel. It includes video tutorials showing you how to do a basic straight stitch when sewing by hand, how to gather fabric, how to use the whipstitch to hem a garment, how to sew on snaps, and even how to design your own doll clothes patterns, just like I do!

  1. Hi, I build a marionette for my son and ‘ve searched for a pattern and found this one here..
Quick question because I’m not an expert unfortunately in sewing…
If I have the collar, sleeves and two fronts, what do I do with the back?
    Do I understand it wrong?

    Greetings from Germany.
    Rene

    1. Hi Rene,

I’m not sure what you mean by “what do I do with the back?” Do you need some guidance to help you decide how to put the pieces together?

All of my patterns have a tutorial video to show you how to make the garments I’ve designed. Here’s a link to the tutorial video that accompanies this particular shirt pattern: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kyBzFWiEuPg

If you find it difficult to follow the instructions on that shirt video, try another of my doll shirt tutorials. Most collared shirts are made in much the same way.

This tutorial is similar, but it allows for a lining to the front portion of the shirt: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UUhF2QhsjqA&t=2s

Your question makes me wonder if perhaps you’re missing the back piece… If that’s the case, here’s a link to the other pattern you will need: https://chellywood.files.wordpress.com/2016/04/jake-pants-and-white-shirt.jpg

As I say in most of my blog posts, the best way to find the whole pattern (plus a link to all the tutorials you will need) is to use the Gallery page. Here’s a link to that page (for future reference): https://chellywood.com/gallery/

Hopefully I’ve helped you find an answer to your own question. If not, feel free to write a clarifying question, and I’ll be happy to address it. Best of luck with your marionette! I want to learn how to make those!

That’s it!!! Sorry for confusion! I didn’t find this pattern. Maybe it is a problem of my smartphone. I’ll try it with my laptop again. Thank you for your information and help!

        Thanks, thanks, thanks.
