Today I’m previewing the bonnet pattern I’ll be posting this week. It’s designed to fit Momoko™ from the Sekiguchi company of Japan (momokoドール公式サイト – momokoDOLL.com); however it will also fit Barbie™ and other Fashion dolls. Momoko is a highly-articulated doll with lovely facial features. She’s popular world-wide, but she can be quite expensive.

Momoko will star as Juliet in my upcoming stop-motion video, Romeo and Juliet. The bonnet she wears in Act V is this lovely red, Pilgrim-style bonnet from the Renaissance period. It’s quite easy to make, and you’ll be able to download my free pattern for it, right here on ChellyWood.com. I’ve also created a video tutorial showing you how to make this easy “Pilgrim hat” or bonnet. So come back and visit later this week for the pattern and tutorial.

If you sew for 18″ dolls, I’ve also made a “Pilgrim bonnet” for dolls like Madame Alexander™ and American Girl™ dolls. Here’s what that bonnet looks like:

I realize some of you are still waiting for a jacket pattern for Ken. I’m a school teacher in my day job, and the end of the school year is a busy time for us. So once I’m out of school for summer vacation, I may have more time to devote to new patterns. In the meantime, hang in there, and let’s all enjoy the change of seasons (from spring to summer for those of us in the northern hemisphere and fall to winter in the southern hemisphere).
