Today I’m sharing a costume that you’ll see in the marketplace scene, in my upcoming stop-motion dolly version of Romeo and Juliet. If you scroll down, you will find my free, printable patterns and tutorials for making her tunic, pants, hat, surcoat, and sword.

Download this free pattern to make the tunic, and here’s the tunic tutorial, showing you how to make it (just add gathered skirting instead of hemming the base of the harlequin top).
This pattern for pants was used to make her trousers, and this general pants-making tutorial can help you create them.
And this is my tutorial for making doll swords. Although it’s not shown in the picture, I also have a pattern for making a sheath and belt, along with a tutorial for making a sheath and belt for swords.
Here’s the pattern for the pretty blue doublet, and by the way, my tutorial for making the doublet shows you how to make it reversible like mine! I can actually turn this doublet inside-out, so it appears brown on the dolls. It’s one of my favorite costumes from my stop-motion Romeo and Juliet film, because I can use it with multiple characters by simply flipping it inside-out! 😉

Also, you must enlarge the pattern to fit a full-sized piece of computer paper (8.5 x 11 inches or 216 x 279 mm) before printing. For the musketeer coat, you’ll need to enlarge it onto a “landscape” page (horizontal, not vertical) before printing, for it to fit.
