Tuesday’s post offered the pattern mentioned in this tutorial, and now, here’s the tutorial itself, showing you how to build a cute little adjustable ironing board for your dolly dioramas.

Please note that this ironing board is meant for dioramas, not for kids’ toys. That’s because it’s pretty unstable (due to its adjustable nature) without the use of Glue Dots to hold it to the floor of the diorama. But as you can see, with the Glue Dots holding it in place, it was sturdy enough for me to do some stop-motion filming with a heavy-duty, cast iron flatiron.

I’ll admit this tutorial is a little complicated. It’s not for the faint of heart. But once I got mine built, I fell in love with it! I may make a couple of different ironing board covers for it, so it really becomes a fashion statement in every diorama in which it appears.

Incidentally, I’m in the process of building an OOAK remodeled sewing room for my dolls, from which I can “broadcast” my videos. As I finish each piece of the sewing room, I’ll post a little tutorial showing how I created each of the various furniture items. But that’s for down the road.
